Brighton Feed and Saddlery has been the place to
go since 1943 when the thrust was livestock, dairy, feed and poultry.
The original owner, Clyde Peterson, was a rodeo man. A strong
advocate of fairs and youth programs, he was on the committee
to organize the Adams County Fair and Rodeo. He co-produced the
Table Mountain Rodeos and operated the store until 1971, leaving
a fine legacy and a sound name for Brighton Feed and Farm Supply.
The current owners, Roger and Verna Allgeier, moved
from a ranching operation in southern Arizona to purchase the
facility in 1973, with the full intention of building a fine tack
and saddle shop. The couple has seen many changes in the last
35 years. Their local area has grown from a mostly rural farming
and ranching community to an area of small horse acreages.
Realizing
the necessity for a change in the industry, Roger and Verna joined
forces in 1989 with Brad McClellan, a custom saddle maker in Vernal,
Utah to produce a fine "custom-production" saddle. Working closely
with customers, Roger knew there was a lack of true working cowboy
saddles that fit today's horses and riders. Thus, McCall saddles
were born. This partnership has filled a real niche in this area
of customer satisfaction for Brighton Feed. With the advent of
this focus, the company chose a minor name change to become Brighton
Feed and Saddlery.
Roger, Verna, and a dedicated staff have grown Brighton
Feed with the philosophy of getting to know their customer's unique
needs and then fulfilling those needs with the high quality merchandise
that the store offers. We have grown from one saddle in stock
in 1973, to over 350 in stock at all times, and over 700 at our
annual saddle sale in July. Brighton Feed has a full
line of all the latest styles in tack and bits, from production
to custom and handcrafted. Professional products at practical
prices is our goal, and customer satisfaction is part of the service
we provide at Brighton Feed.
We carry quality tack and feed to meet the needs
of customers who make their living horseback, "suburban cowboys",
or those who appreciate true horsemanship and want to improve
their own expertise. Our selection of instructional videos and
books help horse owners get the most from themselves and their
horse. We also offer a wide selection of books, music, jewelry,
and other gift items for those who enjoy the western heritage
and lifestyle. (Click here
